2018 Cheng Long Art Project Artists Say Goodbye to School Children

On Monday, May 14, the 2018 Cheng Long Wetlands International Environmental Art Project artists and volunteers went to Cheng Long Elementary School to say goodbye to the students that they have worked with this year to create the 2018 artworks in the wetlands. 2018 artists Myriam du Manoir from France, Marisa Merlin from Italy, Tsuneo Sekiguchi from Japan. Yachu Kang from Taiwan and Chris Lee from Taiwan, along with curator Jane Ingram Allen from USA all came to say goodbye to the children before leaving Cheng Long to return to their homes. We also said goodbye to many old friends in the village of Cheng Long before leaving.  It was a great year in Cheng Long and the artists and volunteers were exceptional this year. This year we also held a symposium about environmental art and communities with participation from many other organizations in Taiwan that have environmental art projects and people in the village of Cheng Long and government sponsors, teachers, many former artists and volunteers and others interested in environmental art and communities. We will have more news soon about the Cheng Long Wetlands International Environmental Art Project so keep watching this Blog.
These photos were taken by Timothy S. Allen showing the goodbyes in the village, at the train station and at the goodbye program at the elementary school in Cheng Long.
